Pediatric Genetics Clinic

Specialists in the Pediatric Genetics Clinic, a part of the UNC Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism at N.C. Children’s Hospital, provides diagnostic evaluations and genetic counseling by board-certified clinical geneticists and genetic counselors for a wide variety of known or suspected genetic conditions. These include birth defects (e.g., cleft lip and palate), developmental delay or disability, autism, chromosome disorders, hearing loss, and genetic conditions (e.g., neurofibromatosis, Marfan syndrome, and fragile X syndrome).

Children and their families seeking care at the Raleigh clinic receive comprehensive evaluations that include a detailed medical and family history, physical examination of the child, genetic testing and counseling, and discussion of appropriate health care management.
