Overview

Physicians within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for fetuses, infants, children and adolescents with cardiac conditions. The pediatric cardiology group practices through the N.C. Children’s Heart Center centered at North Carolina Children’s Hospital. It is the largest children's heart program in the state, offering innovative treatment to more than half of the state's pediatric heart patients. Services offered include cardiac catheterization, non-surgical correction of cardiac arrhythmias, and non-surgical correction of selected cardiac defects.

The Pediatric Cardiology Division offers inpatient and outpatient cardiology care at N.C. Children's Hospital and regional medical centers throughout the state. Services include state-of-the-art echocardiography and cardiac catheterization correction of arrhythmias and selected cardiac defects.

The division's extramural clinical program is comprised of regional outreach clinics in several North Carolina cities, including outpatient clinics in Burlington, Cary, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Greensboro, Raleigh, Rutherfordton and Wilmington. Up to 80 percent of the division's patient care activity occurs within its regional outreach clinics, helping keep patients and families in their communities.
