Developmental-Behavioral Medicine

Overview

The Division of Pediatric Developmental-Behavioral Medicine offers evaluation and consultation services for children and adolescents ages 3-21 with developmental disabilities, learning difficulties, and emotional and/or behavioral difficulties at the Developmental-Behavioral Clinic. The division also offers psychopharmocologic management of clinic patients.

The division's clinical team—comprised of a developmental-behavioral pediatrics specialist, school psychologist, and child psychologist—conducts outpatient consultations at N.C. Children's Hospital's outpatient clinics in Chapel Hill and Raleigh and at a satellite clinic in Lumberton. Consultations typically conclude with the development of a profile detailing the child's personal strengths and weaknesses in a format usable by school and community professionals in treatment and intervention planning.
