Overview

The Department of Ophthalmology has an American Board of Ophthalmology-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. In addition to offering routine examinations, Dr. John Wright commonly diagnoses and manages pediatric eye problems such as amblyopia (lazy eye), nasolacrimal duct obstruction (blocked tear ducts), cataracts, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, and strabismus (eye misalignment). Patients are seen at the UNC Ambulatory Care Center, two blocks from UNC Hospitals. Learn more by visiting the Department of Ophthalmology's Web site.
